Break old patterns and form new habits for your well-being!
Move!
Try to make some exercises every day like walking, dancing or yoga or whatever you really like. Buy a wearable fitness tracker and be aware of your fitness reality.
Make your personal goal like achieving 10,000 steps a day – there’s no training required, and it has an enormous impact on your health and personal feeling.
Buy some earphones and walk through your home, your office during your telephone conversations – you will be absolutely surprised what you can achieve with these little changes.
Dance half an hour in the morning or evening and you can easily make an incredible change in your fitness status and your attractiveness. Walk another 30 to 45 minutes over the day and it´s done! Not such a big task!
The health benefits are real, and really cool.
Take a rest and sleep enough!
You don´t want to hear this but you truly need sufficient sleep, approximately 6 to 8 hours depending on your personal rhythm.
Sleep has a healing effect for your whole body, your beauty and your mind.
Enjoy a break outside, take a glimpse of the beauty around you, but please leave your digital devices on your desk….!
Be present!
I´m really sorry – this is one of the hardest things to get but please try it! It´s life transforming! Stop in going to mental vacations. Being present in THIS moment and love what you do!
“The past is history, the future is a mystery, and this moment is a gift. That is why this moment is called ‘the present’.” Deepak Chopra, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success
Meditate
Try to integrate 5 to 10 minutes in your morning routine. There are many guides on the market how to meditate. But for the beginning it´s already enough to breathe and take time to reflect in silence on the things you are grateful for.
This will create a positive feeling for the whole day and you will be happier, sleep better, and have stronger immunity.
Observe your eating habits!
Take some time and observe exactly your eating and drinking habits. The consume of fruits, vegetables, sweets, sugar, alcohol, coffee etc.. I know it´s sometimes not easy to be really honest about some addictions but these areas can make a fast improvement in your healthy life.
5 a day fruit and vegetable!
Try to eat 5 portions of fruits and vegetables a day (one portion is a handful) – if you are busy take a fresh juice or smoothie instead! But watch out: There are many smoothies on the market with additional sugar in it! This could be a huge trap!
How much do you consume alcohol? Please be honest to yourself! If you drink every day a glass of wine or something similar your have already acquired a drinking problem and sometimes awareness is enough in doing the next step: reduce it! It´s not necessary to avoid alcohol completely but try to drink it for example only two or three times a week! This will have a great effect for your healthy status and will maybe reduce your weight! You only need two weeks and afterwards you don´t need this stuff on a regularly basis and I´m sure you will see a positive result also with your sleeping habits.
Sugar is all around and it´s easy to be seduced through merchandising – I´m also addicted to chocolate and other goodies! The reality is that consuming too much sugar will have a detrimental effect on your health: Sugar provides the body with empty calories that give us energy without any nutrients. As a result, we eat more without feeling full or satisfied.
The key thing to remember is that overall, eating healthily is all about balance and not losing enjoyment.
Smile, be kind and give back
We are all busy and overwhelmed with daily issues and tasks regarding work, family, friends and ongoing activities. Sometimes it´s hard to stay kindly and relaxed. But a friendly and smiling attitude with respect improves our daily life miraculously! It´s incredible how often you will get a positive response if you are smiling and friendly. Try it every day at the supermarket, in the office, at school, in restaurants etc. The result is on top that all these people will also have a better feeling and next time you are very welcome at this place. Try it!
Go ahead and start with small acts of kindness like placing a cup of coffee on reserve for a homeless person, or giving away the gathered points in the supermarket – the little steps count! You will be an example for “a better world”.
And laugh wherever and whenever you can.
Stay connected!
Staying connected means to be an active part in your social community and is a powerful and positive way to get feedback in many areas. We all need appreciation and communicational exchange.
The movie “Intern” from the famous producer Nancy Meyers with Robert de Niro and Anne Hathaway is a perfect example how important it is to be connected with people in any stage of life: 70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin.
This movie is such an inspiring and emotional example how positively impacts connectedness our lives. Being an active member in “life game”, talking to family and friends, having regularly communication, lifelong learning and staying open minded to all the fabulous and miraculous changes in the world is a guarantee for a more meaningful and active life!
The world was not better in former days – the world was only different in some way ….!
